Through my student teaching experience at AMS, I continually feel blessed to be working with such kind, hard working, enthusiastic students. I have worked in a few classrooms around the world, and have found that helping children to become better learners, as well as motivated, responsible, caring individuals, brings me great happiness. In Thailand, I had the pleasure of working with 1st to 4th Grade students at the Sacred Heart Convent in Bangkok, helping students to develop skills in English language learning.
Ms. Rasmussen with 2nd Grade Students in Thailand
After a year in Thailand, I traveled halfway around the world to Costa Rica, where I worked as a 2nd Grade Teacher's Assistant at the European School in Heredia, Costa Rica. While students learned English in school, Spanish was the first language of most students. I had a wonderful time working with these students, and exploring the beautiful country of Costa Rica while I was there.
Ms. Rasmussen Celebrating Costa Rican Independence Day with Students in Heredia, Costa Rica
After my adventures in Thailand and Costa Rica, I was 100% certain that teaching is for me. So I set off to study how I to be a supportive, well trained, experienced teacher at University of Connecticut's Neag School of Education. There, I have been working toward my Master of Arts in Education, specializing in Special Education. And that brings me to the end of my experiences so far, and the beginning of my experiences in working with you!
